You just got your new best friend and you are so excited to go on your very first ride.

Here are a few things we recommend and few things you NEED to know before you start to KOMOTO'ing around.

Always wear a helmet. It just makes sense. Otherwise that one time you do fall, you won't end up with brain trauma or even DEATH! Its not if, but WHEN you will fall off your KOMOTO M1100. Other safety gear like wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads are recommended!

Keep your head on SWIVEL at all times!
Never trust ANYONE! Always wear a helmet.

ALWAYS USE BOTH HANDS WHEN OPERATING YOUR KOMOTO M1100. Never take your hands off handle bars during operation. Just don't do it! Experienced or not anything can happen. Less than one second will equal some very bad news.

Always be on look out for pot holes to debris in the road at all times!

Charging your KOMOTO M1100 will take average time of 7 to 8 hours depending on how discharged your battery is. Always place charger/power source in a safe well ventilated area and not on carpet or other surfaces that can conduct heat.  It will get warm/hot. This is normal. Never Leave your KOMOTO unattended when charging! Always use/place charger in a well ventilated area. More information Click Here!

  • Do not leave your charger unattended at anytime while charging.
Never charge your battery right after use. Wait 30 minutes before charging to allow battery chemistry to stabilize. Letting the battery cool down is VERY IMPORTANT!

Cruise control is a feature that can make riding more enjoyable and also more dangerous. You need to watch when going up inclines and over large bumps, so you do not lose control of your KOMOTO M1100.

Always a good idea to use cruise control on flat smooth wide open areas.

Store your KOMOTO M1100 indoors and not outside. Your electric glide will last much longer if kept inside away from elements. Do not charge in wet conditions or indoor spaces that are not safe. Charge in outdoor location in a safe cool space and not near any other electronics or equipment. Always pay attention to location of charger and use of surge protector. Do not charge in cold weather below 40F degrees.

Your KOMOTO M1100 is only waterproof when battery is in place and running board seal in place. Waterproof does not mean water resistant!
DO NOT store your KOMOTO M1100 in your car trunk or other hot places. If you do store your KOMOTO M1100 in a hot place. Then remove the battery and store battery in a cool safe place. Heat will hurt your battery. Storing in a car for short times will not hurt it. Just leaving in hot car all the time can wear down the battery like any electronic device.

When using your KOMOTO M1100 in wet conditions you will need to make sure to oil/lube the brake cable and front bearings. Marvel Mystery Tool oil or WD40 or your favorite spray lube will work. You do not need to worry about REAR MOTOR!

If you do not maintain your front wheel bearings it will cause them to not function as smoothly. This is not something that is needed often, unless you drive wet conditions

Do not exceed normal operational speeds the KOMOTO M1100 is designed for. Going downhill faster than the max designed speed will hurt or destroy your KOMOTO motor controller. They are not designed to go speeds faster then 24mph. This is dangerous and NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY! We consider this ABUSE and NEGLIGENCE of using the product outside of its designed scope.
