Brake maintenance is very important.

Always make sure your brakes work before each use.

As your KOMOTO D2400 ages you will not need to adjust your brake pads. They are auto adjusting. You will have to replace your brake pads. This is done on average every 500 to 800 miles.

  • Brake pads will wear out over time.
  • Replace brake pads once a year/season or when no longer have any pad left.
  • If braking starts to get weak or hear metal noise. This means your pads need to be replaced.
  • Brake bleeding is something that happens every 1 to 2 years. This also depends if higher usage that will age the mineral oil due to heat. Any bike shop can bleed your brakes or we have a video below showing how to.

Brake pads are the MOST IMPORTANT maintenance item! Check them before each RIDE!
